Find Your Motivation to Lose Weight

At any given time you can ask most people if they’re happy with their weight and they’re going to say no. You’ll often notice that many of these people are confused as to why they’re not at their ideal weight, although they follow the diet of a sumo wrestler and haven’t exercised since 7th grade gym class. People falling into this category may genuinely want to lose weight and just don’t know where to start, or they simply do not know how to get motivated to lose weight.

Wanting to lose weight and figuring out how to get the motivation to lose weight are two very different things. Anyone can wish they had a perfect body, but only those who have figured out how to get motivated to lose weight are actually going to do it. Your motivation to lose weight can be anything that will inspire you to swap that donut for a granola bar, and remove yourself from the couch. Common goals include the desire to improve your health, increase your self-esteem, look better, fit into your old clothes, look totally hot for a specific event, and have more energy.

As long as your motivation to lose weight is a healthy one, it doesn’t matter what it is. The only thing that matters is that you’ve found it, because without that goal to look forward to, you’re going to have a difficult time swapping those Doritos for cheddar-flavored rice cakes… So what’s your motivation to lose weight?
