Combating the Food Hangover

25 Nov

Today is the day after Thanksgiving, and I know I’m not the only one nursing a food hangover. I tried to combat it as best as I could by heading to the gym before dinner yesterday, and then having another mini-workout later last night. But still, ugh! I have to keep reminding myself, you can’t gain weight in one day, you can’t gain weight in one day…

The best way to handle yourself the day after a ginormous food binge is to get right back on the wagon! It can be easy to continue the downward spiral, because well, honestly, eating all kinds of bad things yesterday was fun. But you know that’s bad, bad bad! You don’t want to be sharing clothes with Santa Claus by Christmas time, now do you?

So get off the couch and get yourself to the gym! Sure you’re probably still feeling sluggish from yesterday’s food fest (I know I am), or tired from Black Friday shopping, but I promise, at the end of the day you’re not going to regret having gone to the gym.

Also, if you hosted Thanksgiving dinner yesterday, your refrigerator is probably exploding with leftovers. Do you really want to eat Thanksgiving dinner for the next two weeks? Well, yes, actually you probably do, and who can blame you? But this is not advisable. Instead, go share all of those leftovers with your fat neighbors next door. This way everyone wins, you don’t gain a Thanksgiving pooch, and your delicious leftovers won’t go to waste.

Alright, now it’s time for me to drag myself off the couch and off to the gym! Need inspiration? Check out this blog, and get inspired as the author shares her frequent workouts.
