Special Edition: Jordan Knight Takes Pittsburgh!

24 Mar

Today is your lucky day! There will be no lectures on what you shouldn’t be eating or guilt trips on why you’re not at the gym right now. Instead, I bring you pictures from the Jordan Knight’s Pittsburgh show last night! For anyone who’s been listening to the wrong music for the past 25 years, Jordan Knight is one of the lead singers from the New Kids on the Block.

The show was at the Altar Bar, in the Strip District. Size wise, it was a great venue choice, because it was small enough that you could pretty much stand anywhere and still be pretty close to him. We were up on the second floor balcony, which should’ve allowed for really great views, and at times did, but there was a couple of really large err “roadblocks,” in front of us. I could elaborate, but for once, I’ll be polite. Enjoy this moment of restraint and grace from me, as you know, it doesn’t happen often,

Jordan Knight yelling "Pittsburghhhh, Pennsylvaniaaaa" actually makes this city sound sexy!

Let me tell you that man can move! He brought two backup dancers with him, and the three of them were dancing around that stage for most of the show. Oh la la! He may be 42 years old, but he can prance around that stage just as well as he did when he was 18! Actually, I think he’s gotten even better with age…

Oh la la Jordan Knight!

Alright, he did take it slow for a couple of songs, but how hot is he playing the keyboard?! Jordan Knight is a musical genius. There’s nothing this studly man cannot do!

Sing it Jordan!

This man can still dance like it's 1989!

So studly!

Here’s a video of Jordan signing, “Like a Wave.” Ignore the “roadblocks,” and focus on the beautiful sounds of Jordan Knight’s sweet voice. Enjoy!

Stepping Off the Block – Jordan Knight Sings Sexy in “Unfinished”

29 Jun

Jordan Knight, hubba hubba.

Jordan Knight has been doing double duty this summer. In addition to singing New Kids on the Block songs nearly every night on the NKOTBSB tour, he’s also been heavily promoting his hot new solo album “Unfinished.” Many of the New Kids on the Block concerts are followed by an after party hosted by Jordan and D-Dub (a.k.a. Donnie Wahlberg, for those of you non-Block Heads).

Why is D-Dub joining in on these after parties you might ask? Well, well that’s because Donnie and Jordan have been busy making beautiful music together! The two collaborated on “Stingy,” one of the songs on the “Unfinished” album.  D-Dub must have been a late addition to “Stingy,” as it’s not actually him rapping on the album…

Why did he have to start kissing each cd with chapstick AFTER Pittsburgh?!

I first got my paws on the official autographed-by-Jordan-Knight “Unfinished” album at the NKOTBSB Pittsburgh show. And ooh la la, like a fine wine, Mr. Jordan Knight only gets better with age. All 11 songs on the “Unfinished” album are catchy, fabulous, and just downright hot.

A few of these including “Let’s Go Higher,” “Stingy,” “Rockstar,”  and “Up N Down,” have a great beat and are totally dance-able. Jordan takes it down a notch in slower ballads such as the title song “Unfinished,” “Kiss it Away,” “Inside,” and “Believe.” An then we have “O-Face,” which, yes, is about exactly what it sounds like. Does it get any hotter than Jordan Knight singing about doing naughty things with hot wax and ice? Oh baby. If you haven’t already done so, get to the store and buy your own copy of “Unfinished” immediately!

Sadly, the boys did not have an after party here in Pittsburgh, so I didn’t get the chance to see these songs performed live. Thank goodness for You Tube, which gives me the ability to watch way too many videos of their various after parties on my computer, like the creepster that I am. Speaking of videos, the music video for “Stingy,” featuring both Jordan & D-Dub premieres today! Click here to see it, after it debuts on Ryan Seacrest’s site.

This has absolutely nothing to do with “Unfinished,” but since we’re talking about Jordan Knight, I would like to share (alright, brag about) my story about the one beautiful night in 2005 that Jordan Knight came into Pittsburgh’s Rock Bottom Brewery, the restaurant where I worked at the time. It was a Monday night, no one was in the restaurant, and I was flaming bored. I knew he was in town, and I was bummed that I was too young to go to his 21 and older show. Thankfully I’m like a police dog when it comes to an NKOTB member, I can sniff them out from a mile away. All of a sudden, he walks past me, into the bar area and sits down with a couple of other people.

My co-workers thought I had finally flown off the deep end, and ignored my claims that Jordan Knight was in our presence, until customers started to notice. I’m usually shameless, but in the presence of NKOTB members, I freeze like ice. Thankfully, a friend of mine came into the restaurant during this madness, escorted me over to Jordan and arranged for him to take a picture with me, and sign a Rock Bottom coaster. I’m sure the last thing he wanted to do was pose for a picture with some stuttering, drooling, starstruck college kid, but he did it. And he was so, so nice to me! Jordan Knight, if you’re ever bored enough to read this – Thank You!

The shirt that I'm wearing in this picture hangs unwashed in my closet, 6 years later. Sadly, yes, I am serious.

If you’re asking yourself if I actually took a picture of this picture, the answer is yes. It was taken on a film camera, and clearly this piece of art needs to be on the internet! And also, yes I was once very blonde.
